In the book The Burn Journals after Brent is in children's hospital he has to go to rehab. But before Brent leaves Children's Hospital he has a hard time getting ready to go. This happens because Brent got very attached to the nurses and doctors at that particular hospital. But once he did leave and go to the rehabilitation center he is very pissed because he has no idea who anyone is. Also the whole time he was in Children's Hospital he never had to share a room with anyone but as soon as he switched he had to share a room with some big black guy that looked really scary to him and also this guy never listened to the nurses or doctors. I can relate to this because i had to do rehab when I broke my ankle. this was a very tuff time for me and you see in the book that it is also a very tuff time for Brent. so the way i connected to this chapter was that we both had to do rehab. and i think that in this book that Brent will never actually be cured. he might be cured physically but not mentally. But he also may never fully heal physically because he set himself on fire.

After Brent tried to kill himself he went to Children's Hospital which is a hospital just for children. While Brent stayed here he really enjoyed himself even though he was there for burn treatment. While Brent was here he met some people that he really enjoyed being around so of course when he had to leave it was very upsetting. I personally relate to this because I also spent some time in children's Hospital for Respiratory problems. So while i was at the hospital i also met some people that i really enjoyed being around. Another there was is that Brent's family was always in and out of there like his grandparents which came from out of town and his parents only left to shower and they were right back. This is the same thing that went on while i was in the hospital family in and out worried and my mother by my side the whole time. So in this book there are many ways that i can relate to Brent and also many ways that I cant.

In the book the Burn Journals Brent was very pressured which ultimately led to him trying to kill himself. The reason Brent felt so pressured was because his parents were always on his case about why he wasn't doing good in school and why he hung out with friends that were a bad influence. They were also always asking why all of the sudden he starting wearing black all the time. Brent had felt so pressured so much that he tried to kill himself multiple times once by hanging himself but the rope broke. Another where he tried to slit his wrist but he didn't cut deep enough and fell asleep and the cuts healed. Well the way i can connect to this is because sometimes i feel very pressured by trying to get good grades and my parents always on my case about that. So i can feel pressured like Brent did but not to the point where i would try to kill my self. But there are other ways that high school students can be pressured like having to do blogs every week while reading 2 different books. : ) Or also by Finals that you have to study for. And also big end of the year projects. So there are a lot of different ways that students can be pressured but they should never use killing themselves as a solution.

I am reading " The burn journals" and I read pages 1-94. and in these pages that i read it is very interesting. The main character is Brent Runyon. Brent lives with his mother and father. Brent is having a hard time in school and with his parents always on his back about his grades Brent has tried to find other ways out of life. By attempting suicide. His most recent attempt was because Brent got into trouble for something that happened by accident that got out of control. I myself can connect to this because in Brent's situation he was playing with matches in the locker room and decided to set the whole book of matches on fire. But then he got scared and he threw the lit book of matches in an open locker and closed it. But what he didn't know was that there was a t-shirt in the locker so the t-shirt caught fire by accident. So Brent got in trouble for something he didn't mean to happen. In my situation i was in first grade and our class had just come in from recess and a kid went to sit down and I pulled his chair back so he would fall. But what i didn't mean for to happen was that the kid hit his head pretty hard on his chair that I pulled back. So i got in trouble and had to call my mom and tell her what i did. So i also got in trouble for something i didn't mean to happen.
